it's been a rather eventful week by any standards. slacking sure beats working, but that's only cos i have some pretty good company. how i wish i could just go work whenever i feel like. stacking paint. promoting beer. rearranging groceries. cutting up vegetables in the kitchen. preparing a banquet meal(as a kitchen help. not chef) it is a really irresponsible thought. but let me have that thought wont you!? so now i'm just looking for short term gigs to tide me over, till i enlist. cash is running low though.
since it's such an eventful week. i shall try recapping the events one by one.
monday 21st feb 2005
started out the day by slacking around and then decided to revamp my room's layout. out went some stuffs that ought to be thrown away since the garang kuni system was invented. then i moved the computer from the living room into my room! highlight of the week! at least at that point it was. cos i thought that it'd be a good idea The Sister gets some room to do her work without my dad peering ever so often at the screen. seriously, he really thinks we'd enter chat rooms and end up getting conned by some conmen. gee. occupational hazard. when my mother joked about ME being the conmen left me wondering if he really thought so.
then came the real bummer. i formatted the entire harddisk and NO i did not forget to backup the files! I DID! even dad's files. what happened was that my version of windows xp(perfectly legal) isnt up to date and a security flaw allowed hackers to screw my computer over. to solve that i would need to go online and download a patch. which i tried but couldnt cos those !#$#@%#@$^@#%#$ hackers just wouldnt leave me alone. much profanities were used in an attempt to convey my message to them. grrr. never mind. chill. zen. zen. breathe in. breathe out.
spent the whole day trying to solve the problem but couldnt. wound up so exhausted i just gave up and slept. The Sister wasnt too happy about not being able to do her work.

forgot what i did. honestly. i only remembered going out to get my spidey comic. my day must have been that bad huh. oh i rmb! it's all coming back. in fragments. something like. broken. computer. virus. adwares. cursed hackers. failed attempts to solve my techno problem. oh did i mention cursed hackers? and windows. cursed windows. shall attempt using linux.

attempts to rescue my computer from the abyss of redundant steel was put on halt. never mind that The Sister still cannot do her work. it's time she learnt how to live without her gadgets.
went to school early in the morning to meet C and YW. we were supposed to go back school. catch a movie. eat sakae buffet. and play badminton. probably bowl and go kbox. plus a million other things but for bandwidth's sake, in summary, that was what we planned.
of course. plans are meant to be made and then whether or not it's carried out, that's another question. right? haha. so YW overslept and didnt come to school. so i ate breakfast from my favourite malay stall aunty. chatted with jenny and the drinks stall uncle. then i had to stone with C cos she wants to see her juniors. well in the end she was persuaded to go YW's house and we watched a dvd C bought - finding neverland. which we didnt really concentrate on watching cos we were playing with YW's cat. really cute and interesting creatures they are. very unlike XR's pesky jack russel. which i last heard was dying. must be missing his owner. haha. can't blame jedi(xr's jack russel) la. miss that brother of mine very much since he got a 12 day field camp. hanging out later with the B4s. laughs. so anyway. the show was good for me cos of johnny depp. the effects were pretty cool as they alternated between reality and imagination. indeed it's just a thin and fine line between these 2.
so movie. check. sakae sushi next. headed down to wisma and immediately started eating! haha. it's probably the only time i saw the 2 girls eating like... well... not like a girl. haha. had fun talking and hanging out with the girls. brought back some memories of the mugging period. which i kinda miss now. laughs. very ironic indeed. well at least i thought that during that period i had a sense of purpose, which is very obviously gone now. im just a wasted man awaiting my calling(to serve the country!) laughs.

just got back from drinking session with the B4s. am extremely awake. thankfully i rejected 149023492 offers from B4 to have a waterfall. even though he expressed utmost sincerity to treat me, just for me to have that experience. but since i have church tmr, and i dont want to get drunk, i politely rejected.
B1 just msged me to ask if i was pissed cos of the drinking session today. cos i told B1 in the toilet that B4 was trying his luck by making me drink when i told him about my conviction to stay sober. but of course im not that petty to make a big fuss outta something so small. and being B4, i could totally see it coming from him. just that drinking is such a big no no for me. i can hold it my liquor pretty well. but i see no need in spending huge amount of money on the pyrotechnic display and an experience i could live without(at least for now). well i did miss B1 alot and he's doing pretty well in camp. could do with more catching up man. and well. B3 just got himself smashed when he almost couldnt take the waterfall shot. thankfully when i sent him home, he was still okay and pretty sober. to think B4 wanted to treat him to another shot.
all in all it was a nice day catching up w B1 and reuniting the B4s. :)

continuing the story on wednesday. after finishing the sakae buffet, we felt damn full and walked around town. YW and C wanted to go take neoprints in typical girly fashion. laughs. so yeah i obliged and well, it was pretty good. two thumbs up for the invention of the airbrush! hahaha. then we just walked further down to PS in search of my secret recipe girl. and she was there! hahahaha. YW and C has such lousy taste cos apparently my secret recipe girl is an average looking girl.
C and i left YW then cos i had to join my parents for yuan xiao jie dinner. guess what is it? marina south steamboat buffet. yes. that groaning sound. that's my stomach and intestines and mouth(basically the whole digestive system) groaning. well all in all i had fun helping my family get food. peel prawns. cook food for them. ended up eating very little cos it wasn't anywhere fantastic. saw the fireworks during dinner. everyone just left their seats to take videos and images of the whole proceedings. very interesting cos besides the fireworks display, it looked like all the handphone models were on display that night.
mouth's super dry and having a little headache. darned. i hate hangovers. well, gotta freshen up for church. the mercies of the Lord never seens too far.

housework day! The Mother said that i cannot clean the house during the 15 days of CNY. laughs. actually i made up that excuse so that i didnt have to do housework during CNY. had some free time before playing bball in school. so i helped vacuum the floor but didnt mop it. hung out the clothes to dry. basically just cleaning up and tidying the place. honestly, it was the most gratifying 'job' i had. at least now im doing something for the family. like helping out The Mother with housework. giving her some part of my salary. i feel like a grown up all of a sudden. hahahahaha
went back to play bball with HJ and QJ. actually we were supposed to help train the juniors. mr khoo wanted QJ to impart his skills to the juniors. lol. it was pretty fun cos QJ learnt it from the adidas bball camp in china and i have never even heard of some drills before. had dinner with mr khoo later, cos he wanted to treat us for helping out. all in all, it was a pretty good day sweating it out. we're supposed to play this phillipino team next week so i hope i can get back in shape.

supposed to hang out with C and YW. like go watch a movie and bowl or something. but YW got something on and needed to stay at home. then all of a sudden she said we could go her house and watch some dvds. so i suggested playing mahjong! ended up calling ZY to join us. it was really nice playing mahjong again. didnt play with money but just chips. ended up going home at around 2am.
sat 26th feb 2005
went to cafe Iguana and BarCelona with B4s. some highlights:
B3 when asked by his gf where is he: "oh im at Bar Genola"
images of B1 and B3 downing a flaming waterfall was pretty cool. too bad no pictures. or else you'd see B3's screwed up face. kudos to B1 for downing it like a pro.
B4's desperate plea for me to have a waterfall. but i was too concerned with checking out this really sweet looking waitress. :P

barely slept 3 hours before waking up to go church. it's something that i should really discipline myself about. cos there was this point in the sermon i just blacked out and laid comatose on my seat. when i woke up, Roland was looking at me and asking me if im okay cos i looked really tired.
lunched later with the evil empire + master gimp. caught Team America World Police. really hilarious shows. damn explicit contents too! but it was pretty cool la. there's always some substance behind those slapstick humour from the southpark ppl.
had charlotte's last supper at peihwa market. cos her O level results are coming out tmr and she thinks she's gonna die. was joined by char's friend nat. had loads of laughs which sustained me when i was nearly half dead. suprisingly when i went home i couldnt get to sleep. ended up finding guitar tabs online and tried learning some songs.

i realised that i couldnt move on.
i realised that im still standing here after this whole year. guarding the place in my heart for you.
i realised that i want to be that north star for you. so never mind what others tell me.
perhaps if you come back to that same spot after going round the world, u'll find me there. it is perhaps because you might not come back. but i'll definitely be there. right there.
and then i'll love to hear your tales of travelling and seeing the world. you deserve that. and i dont wish to hold you back.
the world has always been a nicer place when i see it through your eyes.
and as i look into your eyes, i see an angel in disguise, sent from God above, for me to love...

work leaves me like this:
blogging at 2:47. tired and smelly. screwed up body clock. having to blow people off when they wanna meet cos i have to promote beer. having to rationalise the idea of promoting beer to ppl in church.
work does leave me a couple of bucks richer. but that's beside the point.
work left me pretty satisfied cos of the warm gesture i got from just one customer.
work also left me with many friends which i do hope wont become mere acquaintance.
work left me unable to spell acquaintance.
so im sorry to kelvin, jamie and jonathan for having to blow you off like this. and of course my best buddies, bird and ben.
work leaves me with such a disjointed post.
work ends in 15 hours time. :)
